Advocacy is one of the major components in bringing social change. Advocacy works toward the goal of improving a situation in some way, whether by educating people about a problem, rallying more people to take action, or swaying policymakers. The function of BUHN is that of a policy advocate and a pressure organization, bringing together different players in the urban health sector to collaborate on issues of health equity. BUHN will also lobby for government support in this effort to establish productive, long-term relationships between the public sector and the corporate sector. By creating a network of civil society members, development organizations and policy institutions, BUHN will try to create equilibrium and justice in urban health sector and service delivery.
