New Year 2025 Message from the Member Secretary of Bangladesh Urban Health Network (BUHN)

As we welcome the dawn of 2025, I extend my warmest wishes for a year filled with hope, health, and progress. It is a privilege to work alongside such a dedicated and diverse network, united in our commitment to addressing the challenges of urban health in Bangladesh. 

The year 2024 has been a landmark year for urban health in Bangladesh. Under the visionary leadership of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), and with the technical assistance of UNICEF and the invaluable support of the Swedish government, the consortium led by Partners in Health and Development (PHD) has achieved remarkable milestones. Together, we have paved the way for sustainable urban health solutions that align with global health priorities while addressing the unique challenges of our cities.

As we step into 2025, let us strengthen our resolve to build resilient urban health systems. BUHN remains committed to fostering innovation, enhancing collaboration, and amplifying the voices of urban communities. This year, we aim to deepen our partnerships, expand our initiatives, and continue advocating for policies that prioritize equity and accessibility in urban health services.

I express my heartfelt gratitude to our Executive Committee, Advisory Committee, General Members, and all stakeholders for your steadfast support and invaluable contributions. Your dedication inspires us to achieve greater heights and make a lasting impact on the health and well-being of urban populations.

May 2025 bring new opportunities, strengthened collaborations, and transformative achievements for urban health in Bangladesh. Together, we can build a healthier, more inclusive future for all.
